Healthy Habit 1 – Be The Chef
Sure it’s convenient to pull up to the drive-thru window or let someone else cook your protein-style burger, but preparing your own meals is clutch when you want to eat healthy and stay fit. Case in point, high end restaurants can deliver higher amounts of undesirables such as sodium and cholesterol to your dinner plate than do fast food places. Regardless of where you eat out, it is going to result in the consumption of more potentially gut-busting calories that when you prepare food at home.
Action Plan: If you want to keep fit year round, follow the 90-10 rule. That is, 90 percent of the food you eat comes from your own kitchen with no more than 10 percent sourced elsewhere.
